 ULTRA RARE 1940's Hoge WORKING Machine Gun

Item Description:25 1/2 inches long. Stock is wood and rest is tin. It works by winding up the cardridge assembly (blue) which then rotates on a spring and creates the noise--probably from hitting against a metal twanging device of some type. Reasonably loud noise. Windup is strong. There are scratches and some loss of litho, but the item is clearly 40's and depicting WW II airplanes and a soldier using a gun shaped much like this one. The trigger serves no function but moves. If it did originally, I don't know. The Hoge Mfg. Co., Inc. New York, N.Y. Made in USA. (all of this along both sides)
Our policies
- Paypal, money orders & checks. The site is set up to be maximally convenient for Paypal users. Just put the item or items you want to purchase into your shopping cart and follow the links. If you would rather pay with check or money order, please email us and we'll send you mailing instructions. If you pay with Paypal or send a money order, the item will be shipped within two days. Items paid for by personal checks will be held until they clear the bank, which our bank tells us is 7 to 10 days.
- Confirmed addresses. We are most comfortable shipping to "Confirmed" Paypal addresses. If you haven't established "Confirmed" status, we would recommend that you do. It makes transactions much easier.
- Method of shipping. Items shipped to the United States will be shipped Priority Mail, First Class, or Parcel Post. On occasion we might use a shipping service. Once in awhile, generally for large items, we will have to find out the best way of shipping after you tell us you would like to purchase the item.
- Insurance. In 6+ years of selling on the internet we have had no occasions where the postal service lost an item. We haven't had an item we have shipped arrive damaged in years. The postal service is very reliable. However, we insure higher priced items for everyone's protection. If something unfortunate happens we will send you the appropriate forms so you can make a claim at the post office. We can't do that for you, unfortunately. The postal service will (eventually) send you a refund check for the cost of them item and postage. They won't send you a refund for the cost of the insurance--we will do that.
- International buyers. Many internet sites and many sellers on eBay will not sell to international buyers. We appreciate international customers. If you are an international buyer, please contact us directly for shipping and sales cost rather than using the shopping cart.
- Sales tax & tax-id numbers. We have to pay sales tax on items shipped to Illinois. If your shipping address is in Illinois, we will add 7% Illinois state tax to your total. However, it you have a tax-id number for resale, just provide us with the number. That way neither of us has to pay sales tax. We don't always like where our tax money goes, but we keep careful records and pay sales and income tax on all of our sales.
- Email us with questions about items. We do our best to represent all items accurately. If in doubt about something, please ask before you purchase it (You can ask us by clicking on 'Contact Us'). Sometimes there are features to items of which we are unaware, and if we don't mention that something is missing or not working, then it is because we didn't know. Items are represented accurately to the best of our ability. The best customers are repeat customers, and customers become repeat customers when they trust us.
- Buying with confidence. One advantage to buying from us compared with eBay is that our photos are much larger, clearer, and numerous. Our customers are happy because they know exactly what they are getting and a major reason they know this is because we take large scans and, for many items, several of them. Because almost everything we sell is old and used, after you have had the opportunity to inquire about an item, it is sold as is.
